Plasma rich fibrin (PRF) is a blood derived concentrate that contains proteins, growth factors, and stem cells that promote the body's own healing and regeneration processes.
PRF can be injected directly into weak or injured tendons, ligaments, or joints. This substance has a powerful healing effect, reduces inflammation, has anti-bacterial properties, and can significantly reduce or even eradicate pain.

Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist, Hip, Knee, Ankle, and Plantar Fasciitis
Arthritis, trauma, sports injuries, strains, overuse injuries, stress from poor mechanics, and tendinopathies.
Those with current local or systemic infections, or suspicion of malignancy are not a candidate for this procedure. If you have a known bleeding disorder or are currently on anticoagulation therapy, further discussion of risk versus benefit will be discussed at your consultation.
For optimal results, PRF joint injections should be given once every 4 weeks x3. Once optimal results are achieved, yearly maintenance is recommended.

Blood is collected from the patient and placed in a centrifuge to start the process of separating the blood into layers. Once this is completed, the PRF portion is obtained and reinjected into the area of concern.
On the day of this procedure, eat a healthy meal and drink plenty of water! There will be certain medications that may need to be held prior to this procedure and this will be determined on an individual basis.
This procedure causes minimal discomfort for most individuals but please let us known if there is anything we can do to help ensure your comfort!
We look forward to serving you!
